BTCPower Awarded $8.8M for High Frequency Material Handling Battery Charger Contract
(Santa Ana, CA) - BTCPower is pleased to announce that the Company has been awarded an $8.8M contract by Anaheim based Advanced Charging Technologies, Inc. (ACT).
The agreement covers the development and manufacturing of a complete series of top of the line, high performance Fast Chargers and Opportunity Chargers for batteries for forklifts and other material handling equipment, with output power ratings ranging from 4.5kW to 19.2kW.
The combination of the high power and advanced charging algorithms allows the end user to quickly charge the battery during short breaks, up to a level high enough to last until the next break, eliminating the need for battery changing and the need to invest in multiple expensive batteries per vehicle. At the same time, the battery itself is carefully safeguarded and the high efficiency and power factor of the chargers keep the electricity usage to a minimum. On top of that, the chargers are among the smallest and lightest on the market.
The development roadmap of the company includes Level 1, 2 and 3 Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment, on board EV chargers and DC/DC converters, and high power battery and charger test systems for the automotive and battery industries.
